Deputy secretaries: PPP seeks recommendations for vacant posts
LAHORE: Pakistan People’s Party Central Punjab Information Secretary Shahzad Saeed Cheema has directed all divisional information secretaries to send recommendations for filling the vacant posts of deputy secretaries within 15 days.
He said this while addressing a virtual meeting of divisional and district information secretaries of Central Punjab at People’s Secretariat Model Town on Thursday.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Information Secretary Ahsan Rizvi, Neelam Jabbar, Nayab Jan, Abdul Razzaq Saleemi, Faiza Malik, Sohaib Mushtaq, Mian Armaghan Khalid, Humayun Majeed, Irfan Bhatti, Saqib Butt, Anisa Bano and others.
The agenda of the meeting was the role of the Information Bureau, media coverage, and importance of social media and nomination of deputy secretaries.
Shahzad Cheema congratulated the newly-elected deputy secretary information, divisional, district and tehsil information secretaries and said that on the instructions of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto, the participation of youth in the Information Bureau has been ensured.
He said each information secretary will be able to appoint three deputy secretaries (print, electronic and social media) for each media tool. He further said a group of divisional, district and tehsil secretaries is also being formed soon.
Addressing the meeting, Deputy Secretary Information Nayab Jan said there is a need to strengthen coordination and teamwork in the Information Bureau. Training programs should be conducted to increase the capacity of new officials, he proposed.
Deputy Secretary Information Ahsan Rizvi said that the party’s posts on social media regarding the leadership should be updated, and a group consisting only of information secretaries should be formed.
Faiza Malik said the speed of implementation of the recommendations of the nominations should be accelerated.
The information secretaries participating in the meeting also presented various suggestions for the improvement of the Bureau. At the end of the meeting, Fateha Khawani was also offered for the martyrs of the Bhakkar suicide blast and Javed Hashmi’s brother-in-law.
