Reduction in food prices real relief for citizens: Minister

LAHORE: Punjab Housing Minister Bilal Yasin has said that a clear reduction in food prices compared to the open market is the real relief for citizens.

“Providing essential goods at reasonable rates under one roof is a public convenience,” he said during his visit to the Wahdat Colony Ramzan Bazaar on Saturday to review arrangements. He stated that, on the directions of the Punjab Chief Minister, security, cleanliness, and price monitoring are being ensured.

He was accompanied by the officials from the facilitation bazaar, district administration, police, and the food department. On this occasion, he inquired about the quality, price, and weight of essential food items, particularly flour and sugar. He also conducted a special inspection of stalls providing basic Ramadan necessities, including gram flour, dates, and vegetables.

The Minister directed the concerned authorities to ensure complete security arrangements. He also visited the emergency camp and inquired about the well-being of an elderly woman present there.
