PESHAWAR: The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has issued appointment orders for 164 Medical Officers (Fixed Pay) under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department Contract Appointment of Doctors (Fixed-Pay) Rules, 2022, said an official news release issued here on Friday

These appointments have been made on the recommendations of the Departmental Selection Committee to strengthen healthcare service delivery across the province, particularly in District Headquarters Hospitals (DHQs) and other public sector health facilities.

The inductees will serve on a one-year contract (fixed pay) basis, ensuring improved availability of doctors and enhanced patient care in hospitals facing human resource shortages. The appointments are facility-specific and aimed at reinforcing the government’s commitment to accessible and quality healthcare for the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Provincial Minister for Health Khaliq Ur Rehman has stated that the induction of 164 Medical Officers reflects the provincial government’s resolve to address the shortage of doctors and further strengthen the public health system.

He emphasized that the government is taking practical steps to ensure that quality healthcare services are available to citizens at their doorstep.

He further added that the Health Department will continue merit-based recruitments and reforms to enhance service delivery standards across all healthcare facilities in the province.

The newly appointed Medical Officers will assume their duties as per the terms and conditions outlined in their appointment letters.
