KARACHI: Gold and silver prices registered huge gains on Thursday, reflecting a global market’s sharp uptrend, traders said.
Up by Rs7,900 and Rs6,773, local gold prices grew to Rs523,962 per tola and Rs449,212 per 10 grams, respectively, according to All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association.
World market surged by USD79, driving gold bullion prices to USD5,012 per ounce while silver saw a sizeable increase of USD4, reaching USD79.20 per ounce, it cited.
Domestic silver prices went up by Rs358 and Rs307, soaring to Rs8,404 per tola and Rs7,205 per 10 grams, respectively the Jewellers association added.
It is worth noting that the open market may trade gold and silver at prices differing those officially established by the association.
