Series against England Lions: PCB confirms one change to the Pakistan Shaheens squad
LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirms one change to the Pakistan Shaheens squad for the upcoming series against England Lions, scheduled to take place in Abu Dhabi from 20th February to 9th March.
Following a detailed medical assessment at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), it has been determined that right-arm fast bowler Ali Raza requires rehabilitation for his left knee. He is currently undergoing a structured rehabilitation programme at the NCA under the supervision of the PCB medical panel.
After due deliberation, the selection committee has named Swat-born Muhammad Amir Khan as a replacement for Ali for the forthcoming white-ball series, which includes three T20 matches and a five-match 50-over series. The 24-year-old Amir is a right-arm pacer and a right-handed batter.
Pakistan Shaheens squad: Shamyl Hussain (captain), Abdul Samad, Arafat Minhas, Ahmed Daniyal, Akif Javed, Hasan Nawaz, Maaz Sadaqat, Mohammad Salman, Muhammad Amir Khan, Rohail Nazir (wk), Saad Baig (wk), Saad Khan, Saad Masood, Sameer Minhas, Shahid Aziz and Sufyan Moqim.
Player support personnel: Sarfaraz Ahmed (mentor & team manager), Ijaz Ahmed Jr. (head coach), Mansoor Amjad (fielding coach), Aizaz Cheema (bowling coach), Imranullah (Trainer), Mohammad Tahir (physiotherapist) and Usman Hashmi (performance analyst).
Series schedule: (All matches at Stadium Oval, Abu Dhabi):
1st T20 - 20 February; 2nd T20 – 22 February and 3rd T20 – 24 February.
1st 50-over – 27 February; 2nd 50-0ver – 1 March; 3rd 50-over – 4 March; 4th 50-over – 6 March and 5th 50-over – 9 March.
