ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Murad Saeed resigned from his Senate seat on Saturday.
In a letter sent from an undisclosed location to Senate Chairman Yousaf Raza Gilani, PTI chairman Gohar Khan, and Secretary General Salman Akram Raja, Saeed said that across Pakistan, young people have blocked major roads for the past 36 hours demanding that Khan be provided proper medical care in the presence of his trusted doctors and companions.
Saeed urged PTI leadership to abandon politics based on “flattery, compromise, and expediency” and said the party needed to challenge what he called the roots of an “illegitimate government.”
