31st Pakistan HVACR International Expo & Conference: Message from Akbar Zaheer, Convener Conference

It gives me great pleasure to welcome industry professionals, engineers, policymakers, and stakeholders to the HVAC & MEP Retrofit Conference 2026. Retrofit as a theme is something we haven’t exclusively addressed in the past. MEP would also be in focus as our industry professionals are involved in all these verticals in building services.

Architects, project and facility managers, building owners will all be coming together with their set of challenges they face in retrofits. I am happy to share that renowned architect Ejaz Ahed from Ahed Associates (with whom I had lengthy discussions) will also be gracing our conference with his presence. I thank him for accepting to speak for our audience.

Concluding panel would be a balance mix of all professionals coming together to address how coordination for retrofit jobs can be executed better. I am hopeful that this dialog and interaction would make each other more approachable in times of conflict in project management. The art of architecture should be able to appreciate the science of engineering and vice versa.

I extend my best wishes to all participants and look forward to insightful deliberations and productive outcomes.
