Sindh seeks to boost trust-based relations with media: Sharjeel
KARACHI: An important meeting of the Sindh Information Department was held under the chairmanship of Senior Minister of Sindh and Provincial Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit Sharjeel Inam Memon, in which Secretary Information Nadeem-ur-Rehman Memon, Director General Information Moez Pirzada, Director Films Hizbullah Memon, Deputy Director Information Sarang Latif Chandio and other senior officials of the Information Department attended.
The meeting reviewed in detail the various steps taken by the Information Department for journalists and media houses.
Issues related to improving facilities for media professionals, timely provision of information, and strengthening institutional cooperation were discussed at length. The meeting also considered ongoing and proposed projects of the Information Department, promotion of digital media, dissemination of government information through modern channels, patronage of film and documentary projects, and measures to ensure transparent access to government policies for the public.
Speaking on the occasion, Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said that the provincial government is fully aware of the challenges faced by journalists and media organizations and that practical stepS are being taken to address them. He emphasized that a free, responsible, and well-informed media is the foundation of democracy, and that the Sindh government seeks to further strengthen trust-based relations with the media.
