RIYADH: Pakistan’s Global Industrial and Defence Solutions (GIDS) has unveiled a new hypersonic anti-ship ballistic missile, named ‘SMASH’, at the ongoing World Defence Show 2026 in the Saudi capital, Riyadh on Monday.

Designed with a dual-role operational concept, the SMASH missile is capable of striking both naval and land-based targets, allowing a single missile platform to be employed across multiple mission profiles. In its anti-ship configuration, the missile has a reported range of 290 kilometres and carries a 384-kilogram warhead.

The missile employs an HD GNSS-assisted inertial navigation system integrated with an active radar seeker, enabling high-precision targeting against moving maritime assets.
