LAHORE: All is set for “Khelta Punjab Pink Games” which will get underway here from February 11. These games will mark a historic step towards the promotion of women’s sports in line with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif. This will be the first major mega sports event of 2026, with women athletes participating from across the province.

About 3,400 female athletes under the age of 21 from nine divisions of Punjab will take part in the Games. Competitions will be held in 20 different sports disciplines, providing young women the opportunity to showcase their skills. During the event, prizes worth millions of rupees will also be distributed among the athletes.

The provincial Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar reviewed the arrangements for the successful organization of the “Khelta Punjab Pink Games.”

The minister approved the formation of various administrative committees for the Pink Games and assigned clear responsibilities to the Sports Board Punjab and all relevant departments. He emphasized the provision of quality accommodation and meals, timely transportation, uninterrupted electricity supply, and foolproof security arrangements. He also instructed that walk-through gates, additional washrooms, proper parking facilities, seating arrangements for spectators, smooth entry and exit routes, and removal of any obstacles around the stadium must be ensured immediately.

Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar said that the Pink Games will serve as a major platform for highlighting women’s talent, and the Government of Punjab is taking all possible measures to promote women’s participation in sports.
