FAISALABAD: The Labor department has registered 844 industrial units in Faisalabad in the last one and a half years, which has provided employment opportunities to thousands of people.

This was stated by Director Labor Welfare Rai Yasin during a meeting chaired by Commissioner Faisalabad Raja Jahangir Anwar.

He said that the process of inspection of industrial units is also ongoing, while in addition to providing the prescribed benefits to the workers by the Punjab government, social security cards are also being provided to registered workers.

The commissioner appreciated the registration of units and the activation of the industry and said that in accordance with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the divisional administration is utilizing all available resources to provide a conducive environment for business people.

While taking a briefing on the details of active and inactive industrial units in the division, he said that the impression that industries in Faisalabad are closed and workers are unemployed is completely wrong. More industrial units are being registered under the supervision of the relevant departments, while export growth is also increasing.
