LEAs nabbed facilitators, perpetrators of Islamabad imambargah blast: Naqvi
- Raids conducted in Peshawar, Nowshera
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said on Saturday the Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) had nabbed all facilitators and perpetrators of Islamabad imambargah suicide blast.
At least 31 people were killed and scores of others wounded on Friday after an explosion ripped through an imambargah in Islamabad’s Tarlai area.
Addressing media in Islamabad, Naqvi informed that raids were conducted in Peshawar and Nowshera in collaboration with Counter Terrorism Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other agencies, state-run Radio Pakistan reported.
The interior minister said the mastermind of the incident was an Afghan citizen and was in their custody. He said the entire planning and training of the attack was held in Afghanistan by Daesh.
“There is not even a flicker of doubt now that Afghanistan is the breeding hub of terrorist organisations,” he maintained.
Naqvi added that be it TTP, Taliban, Daesh or any other group, all were operating from Afghan soil with funding from India. “India has raised the budget for this funding since May last year.”

The minister said after the humiliating defeat by Pakistan in Marka-e-Haq, India engaged in covert warfare against Pakistan through these terrorist groups.
“We will bring all the details and updates in this regard before the world through our missions abroad.
“Our resolve against terrorism is firm, clear and unequivocal. Terrorist organisations cannot be categorised or differentiated nor can any leniency be shown to any of them in anyway whatsoever,” he said.
