LAHORE: World Bank President Ajay Pal Singh Banga visited his ancestral home in Khushab where he was warmly received by Chairman Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) Qamar Zaman, Additional Secretary Shrines Nasir Mushtaq, the district administration, and other senior officials. The commissioner, deputy commissioner, and officers of the police and civil administration were also present.

During the visit, Banga paid homage at Gurdwara Singh Sabha Khushab, which is managed by the Evacuee Trust Property Board. He reviewed the renovation work, cleanliness, and overall administrative arrangements at the Gurdwara. He also examined revenue records related to his ancestors and had photographs taken at the site.

The World Bank president appreciated the development initiatives and administrative measures undertaken at the Gurdwara, terming the performance of the Evacuee Trust Property Board commendable. Additional Secretary Shrines Nasir Mushtaq briefed him on the steps being taken for the preservation and restoration of Sikh religious heritage, as well as the facilities being provided to Sikh pilgrims.

Chairman ETPB Qamar Zaman presented special souvenirs to Ajay Pal Singh Banga and said the Board was implementing measures in line with international standards to protect religious heritage, while ensuring hospitality and religious facilities for Sikh pilgrims.
