PESHAWAR: The 14th Indus Water Cross Jeep Race was organized under the auspices of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority and Frontier 4x4 Club at Hund, district Swabi on Sunday.
Various drivers showed the best of their skills. Director General (DG) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority, Muhammad Usman Mehsud was chief guest on the occasion. Other present were included Director Admin Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tourism Authority Shehryar Mahmood, Director Tourism Muhammad Ali Syed, Assistant Commissioner Chhota Saddam Bajwa and other important personalities.
The Indus Water Cross Race competition consisted of three different categories, in which the first category was for zero to 6,000 cc vehicles, the first position was won by Bariyl Khan, the second position was won by Baseer Khan, and the third position went to Imran.
The second category was for zero to 3,000 cc vehicles. In which the first position was won by Abi, the second position by Raza Jan and the third position by Raza SS. The third category was for female drivers, which was won Marjan Yousafzai.
The Director General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority, Muhammad Usman Mehsud distributed prizes among all the winning drivers of the event. Addressing the ceremony, the Director General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority, Muhammad Usman Mehsud said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is making all out efforts to promote tourism and is working on as many tourism-related projects as possible. We are going to build Hund Park in Swabi soon under a public-private partnership and we are going to build a picnic area on the Swabi Dam in Swabi. More than 50 racers participated in the race and a three-kilometer difficult and tough track was made for them.
