LAHORE: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Town Planning Wing has ramped up efforts against illegal commercial buildings and commercial fee defaulters on Monday.

Following the instructions of LDA DG Tahir Farooq, the LDA teams conducted operations across several areas, resulting in the sealing of 134 properties, said LDA. The operations were carried out at Gulberg, Faisal Town, Township, Samanabad, Allama Iqbal Town, and Mustafa Town. During the crackdown, 19 properties in Gulberg and Faisal Town were sealed for illegal commercial use and failure to pay commercial fees.

In Township, 27 properties were sealed, while 31 properties in Samanabad and 22 properties in Allama Iqbal Town and Mustafa Town were also sealed. Additionally, 35 properties in Naz Town were sealed.

The sealed properties comprised private schools, clinics, pharmacies, colleges, restaurants, cafes, food points, grocery stores, beauty salons, auto workshops, property offices, hardware and electrical stores, shops, and offices.The operation was supervised by Chief Town Planner Asad-uz-Zaman and Chief Town Planner Azhar-ul-Ali, with participation from the LDA Enforcement Wing, LDA Security, and local police.
