KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust handled 397,450 tonnes of cargo comprising 224,785 tonnes of import cargo and 172,665 tonnes of export cargo during last 48 hours, ending at 0700 Hours.
The total import cargo of 224,785 tonnes comprised of 121,931 tonnes of containerized Cargo, 2,812 tonnes of Canola, 1,515 tonnes of Lentils, 16,063 tonnes of Rock Phosphate & 82,464 tonnes of Liquid Cargo.
The total export cargo of 172,665 tonnes comprised of 109,249 tonnes of containerized Cargo,706 tonnes of B Bulk Cargo & 62,710 tonnes of Clinkers.
As many as, 07 ships namely, Seaspan Santos, Wan Hai 626, Newchallenger, Ital Universo, August, X-Press Bardsey, Chemroad Sirius & MT Shalamar berthed at the Karachi Port Trust.
Approximately, 07 ships namely, Ayrin, Zhong Gu Lan Zhou, Celssius Emmen, Maria Ath, Soya Tianjin, Ever Smart, MT Mardan & Oocl Dalian sailed from the Karachi Port Trust.
PORT QASIM
A total of nine ships were engaged at PQA berths during the last 24 hours, out of a container vessel MSC Domna-X left the port on Monday morning, while six more ships, Asia Unity, Pan Optimum, Richland Singapore, Bitumen Kosei, Pioneer Gas and CY Victorious are expected to sail on Monday afternoon.
Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 102,002 tonnes comprising 85,817 tonnes imports cargo and 16,185 tonnes export cargo,
Inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 1,274 containers (TEUs) imports, were handled at the Port.
There are 12 ships at outer anchorage of the port, out of them five ships, Giovanni Topic, BW Osaka, Gas Aurora, Yamilah-III and Eva Hong Kong &another ship Seaspan Santosa carrying Steel coil, Soyabean seeds, LPG, Mogas, Palm oil and Containers are expected to take berths at MW-1, FAP, EVTL, FOTCO, LCT and QICT respectively on Monday, 26th January-2026, while two more ships MSC Brianna-V and GFS Genesis carrying Containers are expected to arrive at Port Qasim on 27th January-2026.
