Police on high alert: Christians’ worship and prayer programmes held

LAHORE: On the instructions of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr Usman Anwar, Punjab Police performed security duties while remaining on high alert during Christian worship and prayer programmes in churches across the province including Lahore.

Earlier, IG Punjab had issued instructions to RPOs and DPOs to enhance security at churches. He said that supervisory officers should personally check the security arrangements of churches and important locations.

Additional police personnel and snipers should be deployed at sensitive churches, while Dolphin Squad, PRU, and Elite Force teams should ensure effective patrolling around churches.
