LAHORE: An important meeting was held at the Central Police Office under the chairmanship of Director General Pakistan Police Sports Board / Additional IG Welfare & Finance, Imran Arshad. The meeting deliberated in detail on the reconstitution of the Pakistan Police Sports Board, further promotion of sports performance within the police force, and matters related to the welfare of athletes.
During the meeting, a comprehensive review was conducted of the overall performance of police athletes and players, physical fitness, modern training systems, welfare initiatives, and medical facilities. On this occasion, it was agreed that nationwide talent hunt programs would be launched in a systematic manner to bring forward the immense sports talent present within the police force.
DG Pakistan Police Sports Board, Imran Arshad, said that the police force has players with exceptional abilities in various sports that will be provided opportunities to progress on merit through modern training and improved facilities. He directed that mentors of different sports should play an effective role in further enhancing the technical and physical capabilities of players.
It was decided in the meeting that new players demonstrating outstanding performance in various sports will be included in police teams, while the effective and strong participation of police athletes and players in sports events held at national and international levels will be ensured.
Additional IG IAB Imran Mehmood, DIG Establishment-I Suleman Sultan Rana, Chief Sports Officer / RPO Sheikhupura Athar Ismail, and other senior officers attended the meeting, while sports representatives and senior officers from Sindh, Balochistan, Islamabad, Azad Kashmir, Motorways Police, Intelligence Bureau, and NAB participated in the meeting via video link.
