KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Local Government Nasir Hussain Shah has said that the PropTech Convention has emerged as an effective and credible platform bringing together policy-making, modern technology and investment in the real estate sector, playing a vital role in the development of a modern and sustainable real estate ecosystem in Pakistan, particularly in Sindh.

Addressing the 6th PropTech Convention held here at Expo Centre, the minister said that the Sindh government is implementing a zero-tolerance policy against illegal constructions and indiscriminate action is being taken against violators of rules and regulations to ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property. He stated that the taxation system, documentation process and compliance mechanisms in the real estate sector are being restructured on modern lines, which will enhance transparency and strengthen investors’ confidence. Nasir Shah said that quality, trust and long-term value are being made the core principles of residential and commercial projects, as sustainable urban development remains the top priority of the Sindh government. He emphasised that strong collaboration among the government, builders, developers and the real estate sector is indispensable for integrated urban planning in a mega city like Karachi.
