Jam Kamal meets Governor Sindh

KARACHI: Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan called on Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tissori, at the Governor House on Thursday, and discussed various important national issues including the promotion of commercial activities in the province.

The Commerce Minister was accompanied by State Life Insurance Corporation of Pakistan’s Chief Executive Officer, Shoaib Javed Hussain, CEO of National Insurance Company Limited, Farman Zarkoon, CEO of Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, Faiz Ahmed and Secretary of TDAP, Shehryar Taj.

The Governor emphasized the need to benefit from additional US tariffs levied on India and Bangladesh. Investment opportunities should be created in IT and other major sectors like textiles.

He said that the business community should be taken into confidence on trade opportunities in Central Asian countries.

Increased interaction between the provincial and federal governments and the business community is needed to move with the changing world and get better share in the regional and global markets.

The Governor said that the Governor House and TDAP could collaborate in holding of B2B and G2B meetings between Asian and Pakistani businessmen.

Tissori commended the Federal government’s support for the city’s economic development.

The Federal Commerce Minister said that Karachi is the economic artery of the country and the national economic prosperity owes to Karachi’s development.

Jam Kamal Khan, along with the Governor, visited the historic office of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He also planted a sapling as part of the ongoing tree plantation campaign at the Governor House.
