CNF seizes over one ton of narcotics

LAHORE: The Punjab Counter Narcotics Force (CNF) has successfully foiled a major drug smuggling attempt during an intelligence-based operation conducted on the M-1 Motorway.

Acting on credible information, CNF intercepted an oil tanker near the Burhan Rest Area and recovered a massive consignment of narcotics concealed inside the vehicle.

During the search operation, a total of 1,140 kilograms (1.14 tons) of narcotics were seized, including 860 kilograms of weed/hashish and 280 kilograms of opium. The estimated market value of the recovered drugs is approximately Rs. 90 million.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the narcotics were being smuggled to various cities across Punjab, including Lahore, Sheikhupura, Multan, and Faisalabad.
