LAHORE: Secretary Auqaf Punjab, Dr. Ehsan Bhutta, has stated that the development of Darbar Hazrat Bibi Pakdaman (R.A.) is aimed at ensuring maximum convenience and improved facilities for devotees.

Dr. Ehsan Bhutta visited Darbar Hazrat Bibi Pakdaman (R.A.) and reviewed the progress of the Phase-II Development Project. During the visit, he directed the concerned departments to ensure the timely completion of the project in accordance with approved standards and quality benchmarks.

He informed that the estimated cost of Phase-II of the development scheme is Rs. 496 million. The project includes the construction of a new entrance gate, parking facilities, washrooms, ablution areas, a shopping area, a security room, and other allied infrastructure. In addition, a wide and convenient access route from Empress Road to the shrine is being developed to facilitate smooth and safe movement of devotees.

Dr. Ehsan Bhutta further stated that both Phase-I and Phase-II of the shrine’s development have been beautifully and thoughtfully designed by renowned architect Nayyer Ali Dada, reflecting a perfect blend of traditional Islamic architecture and modern functionality while the Communication & Works (C&W) Department has executed the project with precision and excellence. He described the development project of the Shrine of Hazrat Bibi Pakdaman (R.A.) as a true architectural masterpiece, harmoniously blending spiritual sanctity with contemporary facilities.

On the occasion, Director Projects Auqaf, Rafiq Noor Wattoo; Zonal Nazim Lahore Zone East, Gulab Irshad; Manager Darbar Hazrat Bibi Pakdaman, Zahid Iqbal; and officers of the Communication & Works (C&W) Department were also present.

It is pertinent to mention that under the Phase-I development works, comprehensive improvements were carried out, including reconstruction of the shrine, expansion of the main entrance, land acquisition, development of the approach passage, construction of an elevator block, langar halls, an administration block, renovation of the dome, construction of ablution areas and washrooms, installation of modern chandeliers, exhaust fans, electrical equipment, and an advanced drainage system. These initiatives significantly enhanced the overall environment of the shrine and ensured organized, dignified, and comprehensive facilities for devotees within the available space.
