KARACHI: At least three persons died and several others injured when a massive fire broke out at Gul Plaza on M A Jinnah Road on Tuesday.
According to rescue officials, many people are still believed to be inside the burning building. However, the injured persons who could be rescued were shifted to nearby hospitals.
A fire officer said the blaze continues to spread rapidly, engulfing several shops, and its intensity remains high, making immediate control difficult.
Officials said the fire originated on the mezzanine floor and later spread to the basement of the plaza. Emergency was imposed at the NIPA and Safoora hydrants to ensure water supply for fire brigade.
Rescue operation was continuing where filing this story.
