RAW agent held at Lahore: CTD arrests 49 members of banned organizations
LAHORE: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in Punjab province arrested 49 terrorists belonging to different banned organizations during operations in different areas of Punjab and foiled a major terror plan.
While the dangerous terrorist Mujtaba of the Indian terrorist agency RAW has been arrested from Lahore and a large quantity of explosives and maps of important buildings have been recovered from his possession.
According to the sources, CTD Punjab conducted 425 intelligence-based operations in different districts of the province to effectively deal with any untoward incident of terrorism, in which 427 suspects were questioned and 49 terrorists were arrested along with weapons, explosives and other prohibited materials.

The arrested terrorists include Shaukat, Naveed, Abdul Rehman, Amjad, Shahid, Abrar, Danish Khan, Khalil Ahmed, Jamil-ur-Rehman, Ehsanullah, Nader, Waqas, Hasnain, Farooq, Jamshed, Awlad Khan, etc. These arrested terrorists belong to Fitna-ul-Khawarij and other terrorist organizations. The arrested terrorists belong to Lahore, Sahiwal, Rawalpindi, Toba Tek Singh, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Chakwal, Jhelum, DG Khan, Faisalabad, Chiniot, Sahiwal, Pakpattan, Khushab, Okara, Attock, Sheikhupora, Vehari.
Explosives 16480 grams, hand grenades 2, Detonators 36, Safety fuse wire 58 feet, EID bombs 6, Pamphlets of banned organization, magazines, Prima card, Mobile phone and cash have been recovered from the possession of terrorists.
The sources said that the terrorists had planned to target important buildings in different cities. He added that 44 cases have been registered against the arrested terrorists and further investigation is being carried out.
He said that 6131 combing operations were also conducted with the cooperation of local police and security agencies, 243546 people were checked, 599 suspects were arrested, 568 FIRs were registered and 477 recoveries were made.
