ISLAMABAD: A high-speed passenger bus skidded off the Makran Coastal Highway near Ormara in Gwadar on Saturday morning, leaving at least nine dead on the spot and several others injured.

According to SP of the Makran Coastal Highway police and Edhi rescue official, the accident took place near Hud Goth, close to Ormara in Gwadar district, claiming the lives of at least nine people, including women, children, and men, while several others were injured, media news channels reported.

According to Edhi rescue sources, the passenger coach lost control and overturned due to excessive speed. Tragically, nine passengers were killed on the spot, while numerous others sustained serious injuries.

The ill-fated coach, identified as Al-Usman, was travelling from Karachi to Jiwani when it veered off the road along the dangerous coastal stretch near Ormara.

Emergency teams and volunteers from the Edhi Foundation rushed to the scene immediately. The bodies of the deceased and the injured were shifted from Darman Jah to Ormara for urgent medical treatment.

Authorities confirmed that the injured are receiving immediate care at nearby hospitals, while an investigation into the cause of the crash is underway.
