Russia takes 300 square km of Ukrainian territory in first half of January, Russia’s top general says

MOSCOW: Russian forces took more than 300 square kilometres (116 square miles) of Ukrainian territory in the first half of January, Valery Gerasimov, the chief of the Russian General Staff, said on Thursday.

Russia said it took 6,640 square kilometres of territory in Ukraine last year.
