KARACHI: Gold and silver prices edged higher to settle at fresh historic heights on Tuesday, as world bullion markets touched all-time highs, traders said.
The fresh rise took local gold prices to new highs of Rs 481,862 per tola and Rs 413,118 per 10 grams following an increase of Rs900 and Rs707, respectively, All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association said.
World market saw an addition of USD9, further swelling gold prices to new record levels of USD 4,595 per ounce; while silver rates posted an increase of USD1.80 to reach fresh highs of USD86 per ounce, it cited.
Following suit, domestic silver market also established fresh historic yard stick, trading at Rs 9,075 per tola and Rs 7,780 per 10 grams, up by Rs180 and Rs154, respectively, the association added.
