KARACHI: Canadian High Commissioner to Pakistan Tariq Ali Khan called on Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tesori at the Governor House Karachi on Monday.
In the meeting, the Governor congratulated the Canadian High Commissioner on assuming office as Ambassador to Pakistan.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on Pakistan-Canada bilateral relations, mutual cooperation, and regional and global issues.
The Canadian High Commissioner, Tariq Ali Khan, commended the Sindh Governor’s public welfare initiatives, which include providing free IT education to the youth.
The youngsters shared with the High Commissioner that high-standard IT training was being provided to them.The Governor stated that Pakistan offers lucrative opportunities for Canadian investors, particularly in the mining and minerals sector.
The Pakistani community living in Canada is a strong foundation of friendship and cooperation between the two countries, he said. He expressed his satisfaction over Pakistan-Canada cooperation in education, technology, trade, agriculture and energy sectors, which will increase further in the coming days.
Canadian envoy visited the “Bell of Hope” fixed at the entrance of the Governor House and the historic office of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah there. He, along with the Governor, hoisted the flags of Pakistan and Canada.
As part of the tree plantation campaign initiated by the Governor, the Canadian High Commissioner planted a sapling. He also recorded his impressions in the guest book.
