LAHORE: Chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) Maulana Fazlur Rehman has explained the significance of facing trials with patience and faith.

While addressing a gathering in the city on Sunday, Fazl said that the real duty of today’s generation is to keep alive the mission and vision of their elders.

“Everyone who comes into this world has to leave one day. No one stays forever,” he said, adding that at the end of the day, intentions matter more than actions.

He said every human being is responsible for his own deeds and that the acceptance of any effort depends on one’s intention.

He expressed concern that today’s youth are being disconnected from their elders and historical roots. “Young people are being pushed to cut ties with their traditions and values,” he said.

Referring to governance and resistance, he said when oppressive power comes into motion, it takes new forms, and only a firm voice raised against it becomes the voice of truth.
