ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has paid tributes to the professional capabilities of the Pakistan Navy following the successful test-firing of the LY-80 (N) surface-to-air missile and loitering munitions.

The President congratulated the Pakistan Navy on conducting a comprehensive and successful naval exercise in the North Arabian Sea, describing it as a reflection of the force’s high level of operational preparedness and combat readiness.

President Zardari expressed satisfaction over the effective performance of the Navy’s modern air defence systems, surface-to-air strike capabilities, and advanced automated systems during the exercise.

He termed the successful open-sea trials of Unmanned Surface Vessels (USVs) a significant advancement in strengthening the defence of Pakistan’s maritime borders, highlighting their importance in meeting emerging security challenges.

The President also commended the officers and sailors of the Pakistan Navy for their professionalism, technical expertise, and unwavering commitment to national defence, reaffirming confidence in their ability to safeguard the country’s maritime interests.
