ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) demanded immediate action by National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) against V-loggers and others involved in character assassination campaign against the Lahore High Court judges.

The filthy and vilification campaign started as the Judicial Commission of Pakistan has convened meeting for confirmation of Additional Judges of the Lahore High Court, next week.

A day ago (Friday) a complaint was filed before the Supreme Judicial Council against two female judges of the Lahore High Court – Chief Justice Aalia Neelum and Justice Abher Gul Khan.

According to the complaint, both judges are allegedly unfit to continue holding judicial office. The petition calls on the SJC to conduct a detailed review of their educational credentials and overall competence.

PBC Vice-Chairman Ch Tahir Nasrullah Warraich in a press release issued on Saturday strongly condemned the character assassination campaign of the Lahore High Court judges on baseless allegations, saying it is against prestige and dignity of the institution of judiciary.

He stated that the NCCIA though takes action on petty issues but is silent on this vulgar campaign against the LHC judges. He demanded that NCCIA take immediate action against V-loggers and others who are part of this campaign and FIR be registered against all of them and they must be dealt with iron hands.

The PBC vice-chairman said that Chief Justice Aalia Neelum and other judges of the Lahore High Court, are very competent, upright and independent and their integrity is above any doubt and have great respect amongst the legal fraternity and public.
