ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday hailed the growing partnership between Pakistan and the UAE as a “game-changing” alliance for economic development, driven by the UAE’s investment, innovation, and global reach, alongside Pakistan’s untapped human capital.
Speaking with a delegation from the UAE-based Sajwani Group, Sharif emphasised the need for furthering economic cooperation between the two countries, particularly in sectors like Information Technology, digital innovation, blockchain, and other emerging technologies.
He welcomed the increasing interest from Emirati investors in Pakistan’s expanding digital economy.
He noted that the long-standing brotherly relations between Pakistan and the UAE are evolving into more impactful economic cooperation, built on mutual trust and respect.
He pointed to the recent visit of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Pakistan, which had strengthened bilateral ties and created a favourable environment for collaboration.
PM Sharif expressed satisfaction over the enhanced trust between the private sectors of both countries, facilitated by recent high-level exchanges, and described this as a solid foundation for further cooperation.
The Sajwani Group delegation reiterated its commitment to deepening investment and economic partnerships in Pakistan, while Sharif expressed confidence that stronger private-sector collaboration would elevate Pakistan-UAE economic ties to new heights.
The delegation thanked the prime minister for the warm welcome and hospitality, and later, Sharif hosted a luncheon in their honour.
