Gold prices decline sharply

KARACHI: Gold prices dipped while silver saw a sharp decline on Thursday, following a global market recession, traders said.

Local gold prices fell by Rs600 to Rs466,162 per tola and Rs515 to Rs399,658 per 10 grams, All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association said.

Global bullion value reduced by USD6, driving gold prices to USD4,438 per ounce with silver rates going down by USD2.36 to settle at USD76.50 per ounce, it cited.

As a result, domestic silver prices also fell, reaching Rs8,125 per tola and Rs6,965 per 10 grams, down by Rs236 and Rs203 respectively, according to the association.
