KARACHI: Gold prices posted huge gains with silver rising sharply on Monday, tracking a global uptrend, traders said.
A big surge in world market rates pushed up local gold prices by Rs9,200 to Rs464,762 per tola and Rs7,888 to Rs398,458 per 10 grams, All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association said.
World market moved up significantly by USD92, driving gold bullion value to USD4,424 per ounce with silver rates growing by USD3 to settle for USD75.48 per ounce, it added.
Domestic silver prices followed suit, surging by Rs267 and Rs229 to trade at Rs8,023 per tola and Rs6,878 per 10 grams, respectively, according to the association.
It is worth noting that the open market may trade gold and silver at different prices as compared to those officially established by the association.
