Imad Wasim divorces wife amidst allegations of ‘third-party involvement’
Former Pakistan cricketer Imad Wasim has officially announced his decision to file for divorce, ending his marriage after several years of what he described as “unresolved conflicts” with Sannia Ashfaq. The all-rounder shared the personal news via a statement on his Instagram account on Sunday.
In his message to fans and the media, Imad revealed that the decision came after “much thought” and repeated attempts to resolve domestic issues over the past few years. He requested the public and media outlets to respect the family’s privacy during this sensitive time.
The cricketer specifically urged people to refrain from sharing old photographs of the couple and requested that his former partner no longer be referred to as his spouse in future discourse.
Addressing potential rumours, Imad warned against the spread of “misleading narratives”. He stated that any attempts to defame him or involve third parties in this personal matter would be dealt with through “proper legal channels”.

Despite the separation, Imad emphasised his dedication to his children. “I remain their father and will continue to care for them fully and responsibly,” the statement read, concluding with a note of thanks for the public’s understanding.
Hours after cricketer Imad announced filing for divorce, his former wife Sannia issued a statement, attributing the dissolution of their marriage to the interference of another woman.
She revealed that her home has been broken, leaving her three children without their father. In a heart-wrenching detail, she stated that their five-month-old infant has yet to be held by his father. She emphasised that while she had not wished to share her story publicly, her silence should not be mistaken for weakness.
According to her statement, although the marriage had faced previous difficulties, she remained committed to preserving the family unit. She alleged that the “final blow” to their union was the involvement of a third party who intended to marry her husband.
“Following this, I endured emotional torment, mistreatment, abortion and abandonment while pregnant and vulnerable, choosing patience for the sake of my children and the dignity of my home.
“The divorce process itself is legally disputed and remains under scrutiny. The truth will emerge through proper channels,” she wrote.
“To those who attempt to silence or intimidate me: know that injustice does not go unanswered,” she said.
Sannia said that documented evidence was available for “each and every culprit in this matter but I’m being threatened to not post it publicly”. For every individual who attempts to threaten her shall be dealt with by the law, she maintained.
“I speak today not out of vengeance, but out of truth for myself, for my children, and for every woman who was told to endure in silence,” she said.
