ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal said that under the vision of “Uraan Pakistan,” the nation must move forward through collective effort, unity and consistency to take Pakistan to new heights of social and economic development.
Addressing a ceremony on Thursday titled “Quaid’s Pakistan – Uraan Pakistan” held at the Convention Centre on the birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the minister emphasized that rebuilding Pakistan in line with the golden principles of the country’s founder is the most pressing need of the time.
He said Pakistan’s 77-year history is marked by both achievements and challenges, adding that every challenge should be turned into an opportunity to move toward progress and stability. He stressed that investment in education and health, empowerment of women and youth, and the promotion of innovation, research and modern technology are the foundations of a strong, self-reliant and prosperous Pakistan.
Paying tribute to Quaid-e-Azam, the federal minister said that the freedom, security and identity enjoyed by 240 million Pakistanis today are the result of the unparalleled struggle and visionary leadership of Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He noted that Quaid-e-Azam laid the foundations of Pakistan on the principles of sovereignty, freedom and national dignity, and never accepted any colonial compromise.
In his concluding remarks, Ahsan Iqbal urged the nation to adopt Quaid-e-Azam’s mission, draw guidance from his ideas, and play an active role in translating the vision of Uraan Pakistan into reality with courage, unity and determination to build a strong, developed and dignified Pakistan.
