ICT exports post strong growth

Published Updated

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s information and communication technology (ICT) exports recorded a strong growth of 18.5 percent during the first five months of fiscal year 2025–26, reaching USD 1.799 billion, reflecting the sector’s expanding role in the national economy.

According to official data, ICT services exports stood at USD 356 million in November 2025 alone, while the sector posted a trade surplus of USD 1.583 billion, outperforming several other segments of the economy. The figures highlight ICT as one of the leading drivers of Pakistan’s digital and export-led growth.

The sustained increase in ICT exports underscores the growing global demand for Pakistan’s digital services and the sector’s rising contribution to foreign exchange earnings.

The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) stated that it continues to strengthen policies and implement reforms aimed at empowering Pakistan’s digital economy, enhancing competitiveness, and creating an enabling environment for sustained growth in the ICT sector.
