Pre-arrival GD filings: APCAA welcomes post-payment mechanism for all taxes

KARACHI: All Pakistan Customs Agents Association (APCAA) has welcomed the introduction of a post-payment mechanism for all taxes for pre-arrival Goods Declaration (GD) filings.

According to the details, this major policy advancement marks a significant step forward in improving Pakistan’s import customs clearance system and reflects the government’s commitment to trade facilitation and ease of doing business.

Chairman of APCAA strongly urged the trade community, importers, and customs agents to adopt this post-payment mechanism, reducing clearance delays and demurrage-free clearance.

APCAA hoped that this progressive step would not only substantially reduce dwell time in import clearance but would also operate in complete harmony with the First-In-First-Out (FIFO) principle under the faceless customs assessment system.
