LAHORE: Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan said that the country’s development and prosperity are linked to democracy.
The People’s Party believes in democracy and considers people as its real strength. The coming era belongs to the People’s Party and Bilawal Bhutto will become the Prime Minister with the power of the vote by the people, the governor said while speaking at a furniture distribution ceremony for Theme Park flood victims at the Governor House Lahore.
Addressing the ceremony, the governor said that the people of the Theme Park suffered a lot due to the recent floods. He said that life savings of the people and the dowries of the girls were submerged in the flood waters. He added that the government institutions and welfare organizations as well as philanthropists had generously helped the flood victims.
Talking to the media, the governor said that loyalty to the state is the responsibility of every individual. He said that the development and prosperity of the country are linked to democracy. He said that during the three-day visit of Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to Lahore, party workers in the province have become more active. He said that a large number of people from different districts have announced to join the PPP. He said that Bilawal Bhutto will soon hold public meetings in Faisalabad and Sialkot. He said that a large number of people from other districts including Faisalabad are sure to join the PPP.
On this occasion, the governor distributed home furniture among 20 families of the Theme Park flood victims in a ceremony organized under the auspices of Implementation Minority Rights Forum with the cooperation of Dr. Jeff.
