BEIJING: China’s commerce ministry said on Thursday it would track Mexico’s newly approved tariff regime on imports from countries without free-trade pacts, including China, and weigh its impact.

Once adopted, the measures will “substantially undermine” the interests of trade, the ministry said in a statement.

China’s Li says tariff consequences increasingly evident

“China has always opposed all forms of unilateral tariff increases and hopes Mexico will correct such unilateralist and protectionist practices as soon as possible,” it added.
