COAS meets Indonesian President

ISLAMABAD: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, on Tuesday called on the President of the Republic of Indonesia, His Excellency Prabowo Subianto, in Islamabad, where both sides discussed regional security, bilateral defence cooperation and matters of mutual interest.

During the meeting, the two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the longstanding ties between the armed forces of Pakistan and Indonesia. The Indonesian President appreciated the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting regional peace and stability.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir reiterated that Pakistan highly values its enduring relations with Indonesia and remains committed to expanding defence collaboration, particularly in the areas of training, counter-terrorism and capacity building between the two brotherly countries.
