KARACHI: Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, Ministers, and Advisors have felicitated the people of Sindh on the Sindh Culture Day and expressed their joy on what they described, the great day which is being celebrated with full enthusiasm in the nook and corner of the world.

Many colourful ceremonies and rallies were held at the government and social level, participated by the people representing all walks of life.

The Sindh government’s representatives who issued s messages on this day included Minister for Local Government, Housing and Town Planning Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Minister for Labour, Manpower and Social Security, Saeed Ghani, Minister for Planning and Development Jam Khan Shoro, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Public Health Engineering and Rural Development Muhammad Saleem Baloch, besides Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab and Deputy Mayor Salman Abdullah Murad, Sindh Chief Secretary Syed Asif Haider Shah and Director General Karachi Development Authority Asif Jan Siddiqui.

Addressing a ceremony at the Governor House to mark Sindh Culture Day, the Governor said that Sindh is a land that embraces every nation, civilization and culture.

He stated that this is the soil where Lal Shahbaz Qalandar, Sachal Sarmast, and Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai spread the messages of peace, love, and tolerance.

He said that the arrival of Muhammad bin Qasim made Sindh the gateway to Islam and spread Islam in the whole region. He described Mohenjo Daro as a distinguished example of Sindh’s ancient and glorious civilization.

Congratulating the people of Sindh, he stamped the day was a grand celebration of Sindh’s love, culture, and heritage.

Sindh Culture Day has been organised at the Governor House for the third consecutive year.

However, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Public Health Engineering and Rural Development Muhammad Saleem Baloch said the Sindhi culture is a beautiful blend of peace, love and traditional hospitality. “The land of Sindh is a repository of Sufis, poets, and great traditions.”

However, Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab, Deputy Mayor Salman Abdullah Murad, in their messages, also congratulated the people of the great land of Sindh living all over the world. “The land of Sindh has its own unique identity, the likes of which are not found anywhere else.”

However, Asif Jan Siddiqui, Director General, Karachi Development Authority said that Sindhi culture conveys a message of peace, tolerance, love and brotherhood. “Today, we reiterate our resolve to promote the righteous values of this land and pass them on to future generations.”
