LAHORE: Punjab police’s operation to evacuate illegal foreign nationals from across the province is continuing effectively.

So far, more than 31,000 illegal foreign nationals, including Afghan nationals, have been deported. Additionally, 165 illegal foreign nationals are currently being held at various holding points.

Punjab Police spokesperson provided further details, stating that among those deported, 11,362 were men, 6,426 women, and 19,366 children. The deportees include 9,931 individuals with residential proof, 11,064 Afghan citizen cardholders, and 10,016 illegal foreign nationals. To streamline the evacuation process, five holding centers have been established in Lahore, while 46 such centers have been set up throughout the province.

IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that security is on high alert across the province, and the evacuation of all illegal foreign nationals is being ensured. IG Punjab further emphasized that the police are adhering to international laws regarding the evacuation of illegal residents and are fully ensuring the protection of human rights throughout the process.
