LAHORE: The 3rd Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said Awards were held at the Governor’s House here, bringing together more than 800 distinguished guests to honour Pakistan’s finest achievers who continue to elevate national wellness, progress, and public service.

The prestigious ceremony also marked the first time the awards were hosted in Lahore, reflecting Hamdard’s growing national footprint and future-forward vision under the theme of “Wellness Redefined.”

The evening was graced by Governor of Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan, who served as Chief Guest and acknowledged the vital role of leadership, knowledge, and healthcare in building Pakistan’s stronger tomorrow.

Sardar Saleem Haider Khan said: “We must continue to support those who bring wellbeing, knowledge and service to the lives of others. Only then can we become a healthier, stronger Pakistan.”

Education Excellence Award: Prof Dr Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary — pioneering advancements in biochemical research, Dr Mariam Chughtai — inspiring reform in modern education.

Sports Excellence Award: Arslan Ash — putting Pakistan at the forefront of global sports, Mahnoor, Mehwish & Sehrish Ali — empowering women in sports through excellence

Health Excellence Award: Hakim Abdul Hannan — strengthening the future of traditional healthcare, Dr Faisal Sultan — national leadership in public health.

Leaders & Social Change Makers Award: Roshaneh Zafar — championing women’s financial empowerment, Aslam Khaliq — corporate leadership for social impact.

Journalism Excellence Award: Arshad Zuberi — responsible journalism and national awareness. Mazhar Abbas — credible and principled reporting.

Literature Award: Ghazi Salahuddin — influential literary voice, Zehra Nigah — enriching Urdu literature with timeless contribution.

Arts & Culture Excellence Award: Tauqeer Nasir — distinguished excellence in performance arts, Samina Peerzada — a life dedicated to the craft and mentorship of talent.

Bravery Award: Muhammad Ali Swati — courage in the face of danger (Battagram rescue), Syeda Shehrbano Naqvi — exemplary bravery and duty.

Digital Influencers Award: Irfan Junejo — storytelling that reshapes narratives, Muhammad Shiraz — impactful voice of the youth.

Lifetime Achievement Award: Seema Aziz — national impact through education and social development, Talat Hussain — an enduring cultural icon.

Established in memory of Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said, the awards pay homage to his lifelong commitment to healthcare, education and community uplift. As a Waqf-based institution, Hamdard continues to advance his legacy by investing its own resources back into society through sustained philanthropic initiatives.

The ceremony concluded with a special musical performance by Shafqat Amanat Ali Khan, followed by a formal dinner to celebrate the honourees and distinguished attendees.
