PM grieved over flooding in Malaysia

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed condolences and solidarity with Malaysia on Friday following severe flooding triggered by a cyclone, which has caused widespread devastation.

In a phone call with Malaysian Prime Minister Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Sharif conveyed his deep sorrow over the loss of life and extensive damage caused by heavy rainfall, flooding, and landslides that have affected large parts of Malaysia.

On behalf of the government and people, Sharif offered heartfelt condolences and prayers for the victims, wishing a swift recovery for the injured and safe returns for those displaced.

He also reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for Malaysia, stating, “Pakistan stands with Malaysia in this difficult time.”

He offered Pakistan’s assistance in ongoing relief and rescue operations, extending help in any form that Malaysia may require during its recovery efforts.

In response, Ibrahim thanked Sharif for his gesture of support, highlighting the strong and enduring ties between the two nations. He expressed his gratitude for the solidarity extended by Pakistan, underscoring the close relationship between the two countries.
