ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly on Friday failed to take up its scheduled business, including the Question Hour, and was adjourned due to the lack of a quorum.

The sitting began with the oath-taking of newly elected Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Muhammad Bilal Badar, followed by special prayers for the martyrs. However, shortly after proceedings commenced, Sahibzada Sibghatullah of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) pointed out the quorum, questioning whether the minimum legal requirement of members was present.

Nuzhat Sadiq, who was presiding over the session, ordered the count. After verification, it was confirmed that the quorum was incomplete, prompting her to suspend the proceedings to allow members time to arrive.

After a 20-minute break, the House resumed, but the attendance remained insufficient. Consequently, Nuzhat Sadiq adjourned the sessions until Monday at 5:00 p.m.

Due to the lack of a quorum, the scheduled agenda could not be taken up. The issue of low attendance also persisted during Thursday’s sitting.
