LAHORE: The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Lahore and the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance the professional skills of new engineers by providing them with practical training and real-world experience in the water and drainage sector.
The MoU was signed by WASA Lahore Managing Director Ghufran Ahmed and PEC Additional Registrar Muhammad Ansar.
According to the agreement, the PEC will nominate fresh graduate engineers from across the country to intern at WASA Lahore for duration of five months.
During this internship programme, the trainees will receive a monthly stipend from the Pakistan Engineering Council.
The interns will be involved in ongoing technical and infrastructure development projects at WASA Lahore, allowing them to learn through hands-on experience with modern technologies and operational systems. This programme aims to strengthen the practical experience of young engineers and open new avenues for their professional development. This collaboration is seen as a significant step toward improving professional standards in the engineering field.
