Assistant commissioner among four martyred in ambush near martyred
PESHAWAR: Four people including an Assistant Commissioner and two security personnel were martyred in an ambush attack on their vehicle at Mamosh Khel locality of the district Bannu on Tuesday.
The Assistant Commissioner (AC), Miran Shah, Shah Wali Khan Wazir of the tribal district North Waziristan was on way to Miran Shah for his duty when their vehicle came under the attack of unknown militants.
The firing resulted in the death of the Assistant Commissioner, his two security personnel and a passerby.
The deceased, Shah Wali Khan, belonged to the sub tribes of Toche Khel, Zarmal Khel of South Waziristan and was from the Ghwakhwa area of Wana.
After completing his primary education, he studied at Government College Lahore, from where he received academic and intellectual training, which remained prominent in his professional life.
Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi strongly condemned the terrorist attack. He expressed deep sorrow over the martyrdom of the Assistant Commissioner, two police personnel, and a passerby. He sought a detailed report of the incident from the IGP.
The funeral prayers of the martyrs were offered in Bannu Cantt with full official honors. Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shahab Ali Shah, Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hameed, Regional Police Officer Bannu Sajjad Khan, Commissioner Bannu Khalid Mehmood, Brigadier Umair Khan Niazi, DPO Bannu Yasir Afridi, DPO North Waziristan Muhammad Hussain, Deputy Commissioner Khan, SP CTD Fazal Wahid and other civil and military officials attended the funeral prayers.
