Uzma Khan, sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, confirmed her brother’s health status following a visit to the Adiala jail on Tuesday, stating that “Imran Khan’s health is fine and he is completely well.”

The visit took place on the designated day for lawyers and family meetings. After the interaction with her incarcerated brother, Uzma spoke to the media, noting that while his physical health was good, the PTI founder was being subjected to “continuous mental torture” due to his placement in solitary confinement, Aaj News reported.

Meanwhile, heavy contingent of police force has been deployed outside the Central Jail Rawalpindi amid protests by the party workers, as the family’s access to the former prime minister remains a point of contention.

Aleema files contempt plea against Adiala jail chief for denying meeting with Imran

According to another sister, Aleema Khan, jail authorities allowed Naureen Khan to meet Imran Khan on November 4, but “since then, no one else has been allowed to meet him.”

The meeting between Imran and his sister materialised days after Aleema filed a contempt of court petition in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) against the superintendent of Adiala jail and three other government officials for denying her meeting Imran in jail.

The petition had alleged that the officials failed to implement a court order allowing her to meet her brother.

The development had come a day after the PTI expressed concern over what it called “malicious rumours” circulating regarding the well-being of PTI’s founding chairman, urging the government to issue an immediate clarification.
