Pakistan and Bahrain decided to establish teams of relevant officials to chalk out a roadmap for future collaboration in the fields of finance, banking, commerce and economy.

The decision was made during a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Minister for Finance and National Economy of Bahrain H.E. Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa.

In a statement, the Foreign Office (FO) said that the two sides had held fruitful discussions focusing on enhancing cooperation in the finance sector.

“Bahrain has made significant progress in Fintech and offered to share its expertise with the Pakistani banking sector,” FO said.

The two ministers discussed avenues of cooperation between the Central Banks of the two brotherly countries.

Meanwhile, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met his counterpart, His Excellency General Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.

“We had an excellent discussion on regional security, counter narcotics cooperation, capacity building of law enforcement agencies and enhanced information sharing,” the minister shared on his social media account.

Grateful for his warm hospitality and his commitment to further strengthening our partnership for a safer, more secure future for both countries.

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa of Bahrain on Wednesday, reaffirming the strong and historic partnership between the two countries.

Both sides reviewed bilateral relations and agreed to enhance cooperation in political, economic, defence, and cultural fields.

The prime minister appreciated Bahrain’s support, including the establishment of King Hamad University for Nursing and Allied Medical Sciences in Islamabad, which was inaugurated in September 2025, and expressed gratitude for Bahrain’s solidarity following recent terrorist incidents in Pakistan.

Earlier, the PM also invited Bahraini investors to explore opportunities in food security, IT, construction, mines and minerals, healthcare, renewable energy, and tourism. He also proposed enhanced port-to-port connectivity between Karachi/Gwadar and Khalifa Bin Salman Port.
